The Minister of Science and Higher Education issued a positive decision regarding the UKSW application for granting the Medical University Collegium Medicum Faculty the right to conduct education at the medical school.
The consent applies to education at the level of uniform master’s studies with a general academic profile. The direction will start already in October 2019.
There are 100 seats waiting for candidates. The expected date of commencing the recruitment is June 7. The qualification procedure will cover three subjects: biology, chemistry and mathematics.
Minister’s approval, issued on the basis of the opinion of the Polish Accreditation Commission, also opens the possibility of conducting studies in the field of medicine in English. Currently, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (UKSW) conducts the first degree nursing course with a practical profile – both in Polish and English for both Polish citizens and foreigners. Graduates receive the title of bachelor of nursing.
The program of studies in the field of nursing and medicine was prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Health.

The National Institute of Medicines is also involved in the implementation of the education program at medical faculties.
UKSW also cooperated with foreign units: the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore). Teaching and research base of this university for studies and research in the field of medical sciences is the Gemelli polyclinic in Rome, which is the official hospital of the Pope. UKSW also signed a letter of intent with Isarklinik in Munich, which specializes in research on the use of stem cells.
